Baylen Dupree is being honest again. He gives Baylen Out Loud viewers a real look at life with Tourette’s syndrome and anxiety.
In a recent episode, the 21-year-old TikTok star and TLC personality took cameras with her to the grocery store. What started as a simple trip became an emotional struggle.
“If I don’t get my tics under control, I won’t be able to walk through the grocery store”
Baylen started the scene visibly anxious, telling the camera, “I’m starting to get anxious, and my tics are acting up, especially my motor tics.” Her symptoms worsened as she tried to focus, saying, “When my anxiety goes up, my OCD gets worse. I’m, like, really distracted right now.”
In her usual mix of humor and honesty, Baylen kept it light, joking mid-tic, “Almond bitch.” Heavy whipping… dick.” But the reality behind the laughter hit hard. “If I don’t get my tics and anxiety under control, I won’t be able to walk through the grocery store,” she admitted.
Baylen Out Loud: Headphones and healing through music
Determined to finish her errand, Baylen reached for her go-to coping tool. “If I want to finish this and get home, it’s time to put these on,” she said while slipping on her headphones. “Headphones and music are the one thing that soothes my tics. It’s kind of like distracting your brain.”
She explained that calm, familiar music helps her body relax: “The type of music that I listen to to help my tics is country music, Christian music, because they’re soothing.” Once she found what she needed, she smiled softly and said, “Found the buttermilk.”
By the end, Baylen looked visibly calmer. “If I can put headphones on to ease my anxiety, it’s almost like my body is calm,” she said.
