Joy-Anna Forsyth was thrilled as she arrived at the land for her family’s new home. She arrived with supper in hand, ready for what she called their “first official meal at the house.” But it was the yard, not the food, that left her stunned.
“Just got down to the new house, and I was bringing some supper,” she said. “We’re going to have a picnic. Our first, like, official meal at the house. But I show up, and look what all Austin has done.”
Joy-Anna then walked viewers through the before-and-after transformation.
“For a quick reminder of what our yard used to look like, here is a before,” she said, showing the uneven, messy landscape. “He brought his dozer out to the land, and look at the work he’s gotten done.”
According to Joy-Anna, several dead trees were cluttering the front yard. Austin wanted them gone before winter.
“There were a few trees that were dead right in the front yard. So he was saying before winter hit, he wanted to clear those out so the grass had time to grow,” she explained. “So we can have some good grass instead of just a muddy yard.”
Her voice lit up as she looked around. “This is amazing. This is exactly what we’ve dreamed of.”
A Family Project That Feels Like Home
Joy-Anna made it clear, the land means more to them than just a construction site.
“Seeing the kids play out here and all of us being out here as a family, it really does just make this place feel like home,” she said. “And it’s so special that we all get to work on this project together.”
The video even captured a sweet moment with her son helping with a load of dirt.
“We’re gonna go dump this dirt, okay?” she told him. “Papa’s doing the dozer, isn’t he? Did we dump it? Yeah, buddy. High five. Good job. You helping Mama?”
