Kody Brown Confesses Major Parenting Failures in Shocking “Special Forces” Moment

Kody Brown just did something viewers never expected: he admitted he was wrong.

The Sister Wives star broke down during a tough interrogation on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. He confessed to failings he had denied for over a decade on TLC. He felt the weight of his broken ties with his 18 kids and three ex-wives.

“There’s always the accusation that I was favoring one over another,” Kody said, wincing at the memory. “But they would turn against you. They were like, ‘I don’t need dad or want dad in my life.’”

Kody claimed his older children rejected him after years of conflict. “I was offended by a lot of what they did,” he said. “I believed I gave all my kids what I had.”

But even he couldn’t outrun the truth. “I’m the discrepancy. I should have had a strong relationship with my children. I’m very willing to say that I’ve been wrong.”

For a man who spent years blaming everyone else, it was one of the biggest admissions he’s ever made.

Sister Wives: “I Did It Wrong in So Many Ways”

The show forced him to confront everything he dodged on Sister Wives. Kody said he didn’t know what it meant to be a good husband or father.

“I didn’t know anything about being a dad and husband and I thought I did. I misunderstood that and I did it wrong in so many ways.”

He admitted he hated being blamed, which left him defensive and impossible to reach. But now, he claims he wants to fix everything.

“I would like to repair all the relationships with my family and even my ex-wives,” he said. “And that’s not easy.”

No one disagrees with that.

Sister Wives: Robyn Sends a Message That Brings Him to Tears

After completing a tough extraction mission with ropes, chains, and tires, Kody received a special treat: a video from home.

Robyn appeared on screen smiling softly. “Hi handsome,” she said gently. “I’m sure you’re charming everyone and making friends and just impressing everyone with what you can pull off and what you can do.”

She continued, “Please know the kids and I are praying for you every day and sending you light and love.”

The message hit Kody hard. It was the first time viewers saw him emotional in a long time without a defensive wall or angry outburst.

Robyn’s children, Dayton, Aurora, Breanna, Solomon and Ariella, are the only kids he’s still connected to. It didn’t go unnoticed that a message from the one piece of family he has left broke him open.

Sister Wives: A New Side of Kody, Or Another Performance?

Is this real growth, or just another Kody-style act under pressure?

On Special Forces, two male instructors challenged him directly. “Do you feel that you’re taking responsibility in the fallout of your kids?” one asked.

Kody replied, “I don’t want to admit I’m wrong sometimes. I don’t like being wrong.”

The instructor fired back: “You’re concerned about everybody as long as they sang your tune.”

For once, Kody didn’t argue. “I’m the discrepancy,” he said again quietly.

Fans of Sister Wives have already pointed out a strange contradiction. On Season 20 of the TLC show, he’s still angry, defensive, and blaming everyone else. But on Special Forces, he’s suddenly humbled, emotional and reflective.

Some viewers think the male authority figures on Special Forces reached him better than his wives did. Others think he’s only acting remorseful because he wants to impress them.

The show’s directing staff even told him bluntly: “When you really own that, you’ll do something about it.”

It’s still unclear whether he will.

Sister Wives: Did Robyn Get Tricked Into Joining the Family?

The drama doesn’t stop with Kody’s Special Forces breakdown. Mykelti Brown, one of his daughters with Christine, said Robyn joined the family with false hopes.

She said Kody demanded everyone hide their real issues in 2010 to create a “happy family” illusion before Robyn joined.

“We were told to present this beautiful front,” Mykelti said. “Show the beauty, the privilege, the awesomeness of polygamy so she would want to be part of it.”

Robyn, who lived with Mykelti before the wedding, apparently believed the family was close and functional.

“It took a while for the rose-colored glasses to come off,” Mykelti said. “There weren’t little problems. These were big issues.”

She insisted no one tried to deceive Robyn, they were told to stay quiet.

This revelation explains why Robyn became isolated, withdrawn, and overwhelmed.

Do you think Kody Brown’s apologies are real this time?
