Sister Wives: Janelle Brown Finally Reveals the Truth Behind Her New Living Setup

Janelle Brown just revealed what life is like on her huge 156-acre farm in North Carolina. It’s a big change from what viewers saw in Sister Wives.

In a new Instagram Reel, the former TLC star tackled a big question about her life after Kody: Is she living with her daughter Madison Brush?

“People have asked us about the houses. Here is a door-to-door look,” she said, turning her camera toward a stretch of rolling land.

The footage shows two houses facing each other from a distance, separated by trees and open field. Janelle and Madison are building their own homes, but they share the same property.

Madison reposted the clip, laughing about the distance between the two homes. “Not 300 yards… maybe 100 door to door,” she wrote. “I am sure someone will correct me.”

The update quickly excited viewers who have watched Janelle’s construction journey for almost a year. One comment summed it up: “The grandbabies are going to love this.”

Sister Wives: A Whole New Life on 156 Acres

Janelle Brown’s farm transformation is one of her most inspiring stories since leaving Kody.

She bought the property with Madison and her son-in-law, Caleb. Together, they are transforming the large space into several homes and a new business called Taeda Farms.

Janelle shared photos of everything: cleared land, foundation beams, and the first framed walls. She called the experience “wild, messy, and beautiful.”

In one post, she wrote, “Building a house while building a whole new life at the same time? Not for the faint of heart.”

Her deep connection to the land grew after tough years. She faced the end of her marriage and the heartbreaking loss of her son, Garrison, who died by suicide in March 2025.

The North Carolina farm seems to be her anchor. It helps her through grief, change, and rebuilding.

Sister Wives: Janelle’s New Chapter: “Permanent Roots”

Janelle introduced the property in December 2024. She used a sweeping Reel set to “Take Me Home, Country Roads.””

“Finally putting down some permanent roots,” she wrote at the time. “Doesn’t look like much yet, but it will.”

Her latest footage shows just how much progress has been made.

The two homes, hers and Madison’s,mark the start of a multigenerational compound. Here, Janelle enjoys her children, her grandkids, and the peaceful life she always wanted.

And while her farm blossoms, another part of her life continues to fracture: her relationship with Kody Brown.

Sister Wives: Madison’s Secret Pregnancy: Kody “Didn’t Know”

Janelle is creating a stable life. Meanwhile, Kody Brown deals with the effects of years of broken relationships, especially with his adult kids.

In a recent episode of Sister Wives, Janelle shared that her daughter Madison hadn’t told Kody about her fourth pregnancy.

“Maddie doesn’t really even tell him that she’s pregnant,” Janelle said. “He’ll find out.”

She added, “They haven’t spoken for a long time. It’s probably been two or three years.”

Madison later welcomed daughter Emilia Estelle in March, joining Axel, Evie and Josephine. Kody had no idea she was expecting.

Sister Wives: Why Madison Cut Kody Out Completely

Madison’s decision wasn’t a sudden emotional reaction, it was a hard boundary built over years.

In 2024, she said on her podcast The Authentic Society:

“He doesn’t have any respect for boundaries, and you have to play by his rules, and I just don’t care to do that.”

She said that those who tell her to “respect her dad” don’t understand their relationship at all.

Janelle supported her daughter’s decision. She shared that Kody hasn’t seen Madison’s kids since Evie was born.

“Maddie’s like, ‘Why would I tell him I’m having another one? He hasn’t shown that much interest in the other two.’”

To Madison, keeping her pregnancy private was protection, not punishment. “She did not want Kody to suddenly drop in and be like, ‘Oh, I’m your grandpa,’” Janelle explained.
