Christine Brown’s daughter Mykelti Brown is done staying quiet.
The Sister Wives star is responding to criticism for letting her kids use iPads on a long road trip.
The 29 year old mom shared a blunt message on Instagram and made one thing clear. She is not apologizing for how she parents.
“I Got Massive Hate DMs”
Mykelti Brown opened up in a video posted Thursday, Jan. 8. She said strangers crossed a line after she gave her three kids tablets during a four hour drive.
“I hate when I get judged for how I raise my kids,” Mykelti said.
“I got some serious hate comments. I actually got hate DMs. Massive amounts of them.”
She explained the moment that sparked the backlash. She and her husband Tony Padron were driving to visit her sister Ysabel. The adults were occupied. So she made a choice.
“I had my Kindle. I had my phone. Tony had his podcast,” she said.
“I gave my kids iPads so they could be entertained too.”
“It’s Four Hours. They’re Fine.”
Mykelti did not mince words.
She pointed out the double standard parents face every day.
“We get on our phones while we drive,” she said.
“I’m a straight up passenger princess.”
She added that moms are judged harder than anyone for normal parenting decisions.
“I don’t like that we get judged so hard as a mom for trying to entertain our kids,” she said.
In the caption, she summed it up with a clear message.
“Cut Mom Shaming in 2026.”

Fans Rush to Defend Her
Support poured in almost instantly.
“Using iPads on long drives is totally ok,” one fan wrote.
“Your kids, your business,” another added.
Others pointed out the irony.
“They’re sending hate from their phones,” one comment read.
Life Changes and Family Stress
Mykelti has been open about the pressure she’s under.
She moved her family from Utah to North Carolina in 2024 to be closer to her sister Ysabel.
Christine, her mom, hinted that the move was linked to Mykelti’s rocky relationship with her dad, Kody Brown.
“She’s exhausted from trying to get everybody back together,” Christine said on Sister Wives.
That context matters.
Mykelti is raising three young kids. She’s also dealing with family issues that are in the public eye.
And frankly, this felt like a breaking point.
