Last week’s episode left Debby sobbing on the floor outside a wedding chapel, convinced Mido was calling off their entire future together. This week’s 90 Day Fiancé picked up exactly where that cliffhanger left off, and the truth turned out to be the opposite of what it looked like.
Mido was not leaving. He was proposing, with 25 days left on his visa and a ring he had been carrying around waiting for the right moment.
Debby Had No Idea What Was Coming
The episode opens with Debby still in crisis. She refuses to turn around even as Mido follows her outside the chapel, calling her name. In a confessional, she described the whiplash of the moment.
“I’m so confused. Because Mido and I, we were looking at the chapel and the tone changed so quick that I thought I missed something,” she said. “He’s saying he’s not comfortable. He’s saying he wants to go home. And all I wanted to do was get out of there. I couldn’t breathe. What’s going on here?”
While she stood there crying with her back to him, Mido quietly pulled the ring from his bag and got down on one knee. She kept refusing to face him, so he set the ring on the ground and went to console her instead, eventually turning her around and getting back down on one knee.
“I’m Going To Kill You”
The moment Debby actually saw the ring, her reaction was pure shock rather than joy, at least at first.
“I got you!” Mido said with a smile.
“I’ll kill you. Oh my God,” Debby responded, collapsing to the ground still crying, though the tears had shifted from devastation to something closer to disbelief.
Mido, still on one knee, joked back: “You want to kill me? Okay, I’m going home. Where is my ticket?”
That exchange is doing more work than it looks like. Debby’s first instinct was fury, not relief, which tells you how real her fear of losing him actually was moments earlier.
Why He Set It Up This Way
Mido explained his reasoning in a confessional, framing the moment as a callback to how Debby had surprised him earlier in their relationship.
“I’ve been carrying the ring until I catch a good time. And I know Debby, she wants to know right now if we go and marry,” he said. “So I was thinking about this good chance to surprise her. Because she surprised me. I should surprise her.”
Here is where the episode deserves a harder look rather than just a happy ending edit. Staging a convincing breakup, complete with “I want to go back to Egypt” and a devastated fiancée sobbing on the floor, just to flip it into a proposal is a genuinely intense way to surprise someone. Debby’s panic in that confessional was not performed. Whether the emotional cost of that setup was worth the surprise is a fair question, even with a happy ending attached.

She Said Yes
Once the shock wore off, Debby embraced the moment fully. She called the ring “perfect” as Mido slipped it onto her finger, still repeating “I’m going to kill you” in a loop between tears.
Mido reflected on what the relationship has taught him. “I know that she’s a good person and she have a good heart. And I think before we meet each other, she was missing, we was missing something in our life,” he said, adding that he now feels the two of them complete each other.
In a joint confessional, the newly engaged couple confirmed the news together. Debby offered her own take on the unconventional proposal. “I mean it’s perfect. It’s beautiful. Not exactly how I expected it, but nonetheless, it’s beautiful.”
What This Means For The Rest Of The Season
This engagement does not erase the season’s earlier tension. Mido’s Hollywood ambitions, his financial struggles, and the couple’s repeated blowups are all still on the table, and a ring does not resolve any of it. What it does confirm is that Mido intends to stay and pursue marriage rather than use his remaining visa days to head home.
With 25 days left before decisions become permanent, Debby and Mido are now engaged and racing the same clock that almost broke them up.
