90 Day Fiancé: Sumit Directly Denied A Rumor About Jenny’s Condition, And She Backed Him Up Herself

90 Day Fiancé: Sumit Directly Denied A Rumor About Jenny's Condition, And She Backed Him Up Herself

Sumit Singh had one specific rumor he wanted gone. In an Instagram video posted Monday, July 27, he addressed claims circulating online that Jenny Slatten is confined to a hospital bed and unable to function on her own.

“What you see on some pages, some people are posting that she’s on a hospital bed and unable to do anything, which is a lie, and Jenny don’t like that,” Sumit said.

That is about as direct as a denial gets, and pairing it with “Jenny don’t like that” makes clear this was not just a factual correction. It was personal.

Jenny Spoke For Herself

Rather than let Sumit do all the talking, Jenny addressed her followers directly in the same video. Her speech was noticeably slurred, a visible sign of how ALS has progressed, but her message was clear.

“I’m OK,” she said. “I talk slow but I’m able to take care of myself, with help from him.”

Sumit, 38, added simply, “I’m always there for her.”

Hearing the update in Jenny’s own voice matters here. A slower, harder-to-form sentence is not the same thing as being unable to communicate, and the distinction is exactly what this video was trying to correct. She is not hospitalized. She is living with a progressive disease, speaking for herself, and pushing back on anyone who suggested otherwise.

The Visa Process Continues

Sumit reiterated that the family is still working to get him a visa to accompany Jenny to the US, where she could access treatment through her insurance. He acknowledged the process has not moved quickly.

“It’s not like we are staying idle, we are trying, but I believe it’s hard for Indian to get an American visa but still, we are trying our best,” he said. “Hoping that I will get the visa soon.”

The Real Cost Behind The GoFundMe

The couple’s fundraiser has taken on new urgency as more financial details have come to light. According to the fundraiser’s organizer, medication alone is projected to exceed $200,000 for a single year. The GoFundMe also covers mobility equipment like a walker and wheelchair, in-home caregiver support, and future hospital and treatment costs. As of publishing, the campaign had raised over $99,000 toward a $171,700 goal.

That $200,000 figure reframes the entire fundraiser. This was never about covering a single hospital bill. It’s a growing cost that increases as Jenny’s care needs rise. This is why the couple keeps asking for support instead of seeing one donation push as enough.

Gratitude For Sarper’s Fundraiser

Jenny and Sumit thanked their 90 Day Fiancé castmate, Sarper Güven. He recently held a stand-up comedy show to raise money for Jenny’s care.

“Your kindness means the world to us,” the couple wrote. “And to everyone who has donated to our GoFundMe, booked a Cameo, sent prayers, kind messages, and encouraging comments, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Every little thing you do gives us hope and strength.”

That gesture from Sarper says something about how this cast operates behind the scenes. Franchise castmates do not typically organize benefit shows for each other, and it speaks to how seriously the 90 Day community has rallied around this specific couple.
