NeNe Leakes is officially back in the Bravo world, but do not expect her to sign up for a full RHOA season. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum made her first Bravo appearance in years on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th, which immediately reignited speculation about a full-time comeback. During a new interview with Atlanta’s Big Tigger Morning Show, Leakes shut that idea down herself.
Why She’s Not Picking Her Peach Back Up
Leakes made her position clear. She said she’d love to visit her old castmates and make appearances. But sitting through all the arguing, alliances, and reunion drama of a full season isn’t what she wants right now. “I can’t do that. That’ll drive me crazy,” she said. She said this decision isn’t about holding a grudge against the franchise. She has moved on from her complicated past there and is now in a different place in her life.
Instead of a full comeback, Leakes floated a much easier arrangement. She said she would enjoy joining the cast for a trip and going home afterward rather than committing to an entire season and reunion cycle.
Her Take on Shamea Morton
Leakes was also asked whether Shamea Morton should walk away from RHOA given her rocky season with castmates. Leakes didn’t tell her to quit. Instead, she highlighted how the show changes lives. Most cast members often end up divorced from their original partners. They also drift away from their first friendships. She acknowledged Shamea’s paycheck is a real factor in that decision and said she would not tell her what to do with her own career.
A Comeback on Her Own Terms
Leakes clearly wants a piece of the Bravo spotlight again without signing up for the grind that comes with it. That is a smart position for someone who has already lived through the full-time version of this franchise and the fallout that came with it. The real question is whether Bravo will keep bringing her back for short appearances or push for more later.
