Teresa Giudice has a new version of an old story. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star says she did not throw out Melissa Gorga’s sprinkle cookies. She says her ex-mother-in-law did. She shared the account in an Us Weekly cover story with Melissa, 15 years after the feud began.
RHONJ: Teresa Giudice’s Version
“It wasn’t me that threw out the sprinkle cookies,” Teresa said, as Us Magazine relayed from the interview. She said her ex-mother-in-law, Filomena Giudice, tossed them. She also said she only gave Melissa friendly advice: skip the plastic-container cookies from Corrado’s and buy pignoli cookies at a bakery. Teresa said Melissa took it as an insult and put it on Facebook. She added that by repeating the story, it came off as if she did the throwing. Filomena has not responded in these reports.

Melissa pushed back on the advice. She said Teresa’s dad taught her to shop at Corrado’s and took her there all the time. The feud began on Christmas Day 2011, when Melissa brought store-bought sprinkle cookies to a family gathering. Teresa later told castmates on camera that she threw them in the garbage. Melissa has since turned the joke into a business. She launched Let’s Sprinkle in 2024, a bakery and merchandise line, and says it just celebrated its first year.

The sisters-in-law have been friends again for a while, and the cookies are a running gag. What changed is the blame. Teresa now puts the toss on someone who is not in the room. Whether that is the full story is for the two families to sort out. It does show how a small moment on TV can follow a family for 15 years.
