Ben and Erin Napier are not easing into the new year.
HGTV favorites are back with a new season of Home Town. They say this one is their toughest yet.
Season 10 premieres January 4.
And one project nearly scared contractors away.
“This is the biggest construction project I have ever been a part of,” Ben Napier admits.
“This is the biggest challenge we’ve ever had.”
“Some Contractors Wouldn’t Touch It”
HGTV dropped a sneak peek on December 31, and it did not disappoint.
“We got big news,” Ben says in the clip.
Erin jumps in smiling. “‘Home Town’ is coming back. And here’s a sneak peek at a really great season.”
Then reality hits.
The couple stands inside a historic Laurel home that is barely holding together.
“Some contractors have said, ‘I won’t touch this one,’” Erin Napier reveals.
That says a lot.
A House on the Brink of Collapse
The Season 10 premiere focuses on an iconic Laurel home with serious problems.
According to the episode synopsis, the house is on the brink of collapse. Repairs were delayed for years. The cost is staggering.
Ben and Erin face a real question.
Can the home even be saved?
If the family walks away, the project ends.
If they stay, it becomes the biggest job of the Napiers’ careers.
The renovation is so massive it spans two full episodes.
Pushing Through Setbacks and Soaring Costs
The second episode does not let up.
Ben and Erin face setbacks, unexpected damage, and high costs. They work hard to keep the home standing for another century.
HGTV describes it as one of the longest and most challenging projects the show has ever filmed.
Ben later confirmed that in a January 2026 interview.
“Every project pushed us to our limits,” he said.
“Typically in a different way than we’re used to.”
That is saying something after nine seasons.
Fans Are All In
Home Town viewers flooded the comments with excitement.
“I’ve missed you guys so much,” one fan wrote.
“Doing a happy dance,” another added.
Others put full faith in the couple.
“If anyone can fix it, it’s you,” one comment read.
Ben and Erin have built that trust over time. This project will test it.
A Family Baby Bombshell This Season
Season 10 also brings a personal twist.
Ben’s brother, Jesse Napier, and his sister-in-law, Lauren, secretly bought a fixer-upper. They didn’t tell the Napiers.
Then they dropped bigger news.
“Baby number three is coming,” Erin revealed.
Ben’s reaction was immediate.
“Listen, you can’t do this right now,” he joked.
They stepped in to help. Again.
Renovating for a family of five is a different game. And the timing could not be wilder.
