Bradley Cooper hit the red carpet for the premiere of his new film, Is This Thing On? But this time, he wasn’t just the star; he also directed it. The actor shared that it was his first time directing close friends Laura Dern and Will Arnett. He called it a “thrill.”
“I’ve known Will for so many years,” Cooper said, beaming. “He’s always been the funniest guy in any room. I thought, maybe there’s something to craft here, and that I could help shepherd that in any way I could.”
Cooper said Laura Dern joined soon after. He called it a dream collaboration. “For Laura, I got to write a character that would push her, and allow her to really use all of her artistic ability,” he said. “Then you’re on set with people who know all of you. I’ve known Laura a long time, not as long as Will, but we’re very close.”
The Oscar nominee added that shooting in New York felt like “coming home.” “We did it fast,” he shared. “We shot it in 33 days. We just wrapped at the end of May.”
“The Mosaic of Our Friendship”
The actor’s longtime friendship with Will Arnett runs deeper than Hollywood. When asked about their bond, Cooper shared a rare personal reflection.
“People come into your life at certain points, and you don’t maybe realize it at the time,” he said. “We could have just had that moment and that was it. But the fact that we’re still friends, and we’ve been through so much since then, it’s just part of the mosaic of our friendship.”
Fans quickly swooned over the phrase. Even Access Hollywood’s host replied, “I’ve never heard anyone say that, the mosaic of our friendship. That’s really beautiful.”
Margot Robbie Movie Rumors
Cooper faced questions about the rumored Ocean’s Eleven prequel with Margot Robbie.
“Getting a chance to work with [her production company] LuckyChap and Margot would be amazing,” Cooper said, sounding intrigued but keeping it vague.
Fans are already buzzing about the idea of the two stars sharing the screen. One commented, “We need steamy scenes between these two! 🔥🔥🔥” Another added, “I wonder if he’s going to produce the film with Margot and her husband too.”
Halloween Plans With Daughter Lea
Cooper shared a peek into his home life, hinting at Halloween plans with his eight-year-old daughter, Lea.
“Maria likes to keep it a secret,” he said with a grin. “We got it all sorted though. She listens to input, but it’s her decision.”
Last year, Cooper said he dressed as their dog, Peanut. “She wanted me to be Peanut, so I was, and the costume actually looked like him!” he laughed.
“You Can’t Even Recognize Him!”
Cooper’s interview had many heartfelt moments, but fans online focused on his look.
One commenter wrote, “You can’t even recognize him. Why did he change his look so much? I don’t even know who this person is anymore.” Another added, “Nice hairpiece.”
Still, others came to his defense. “Bradley Cooper is an outstanding actor,” one fan insisted. Another said, “Who cares about his hair? He’s one of the most talented men in Hollywood.”
A few critics poked fun at his calm tone, joking, “The vocal fry and his toupe.”
