Jenna Bush Hager did not hold back when a prank from her co-host went way too far. The Today star fired back with a sharp insult after Matt Rogers pranked her during a wild phone call. She was so upset, she almost called security.
Jenna was already in the spotlight for an awkward moment with Minka Kelly. Then, she surprised everyone by admitting she nearly dropped the “Bush” name.
Jenna Snaps After Matt’s Prank Goes Wrong
Matt Rogers called Jenna from a “locked dressing room.” He pretended to panic and gasped for help. He pushed it hard, telling her, “I’m freaking out Jenna. I don’t get scared a lot… I can’t breathe.”
Jenna immediately switched into rescue mode. “Wait… take a deep breath. I’m calling someone right now because they need to send security over for you.”
But seconds later, Matt broke. “Ok, wait, stop! It’s a prank call!”
Jenna didn’t hesitate. “You are such a butt face. You f* a*. I was calling somebody to save you.”
The clip spread fast, and honestly, it’s peak Jenna energy. She truly thought she was about to send a rescue squad for him.
Jenna’s Awkward Clash With Minka Kelly
Jenna knows tense TV moments well, but things got really awkward in her recent interview with actress Minka Kelly.
While chatting about Christmas trees and rom-coms, Jenna abruptly pivoted: “You have a very big love in your life right now. Talk about your relationship if you feel comfortable.”
Minka’s face said everything. She froze. She glared. She gave the shortest answer possible.
“It was honestly so awkward,” one viewer said online. Another added, “Jenna laughed out loud because she was so uncomfortable… Minka was being so weird.”
Jenna powered through, but she definitely pushed the boundary a bit too far for Minka’s taste.
Jenna Reveals She Almost Dropped “Bush”
In another Today chat, Jenna surprised viewers. She shared that she once thought about dropping the Bush name after marrying Henry Hager.
“I was ready to go by Hager,” she said. She even went by “Ms. Jenna” while teaching to avoid the political spotlight.
But producers shut it down quick. “They were like, ‘You wrote a book under Jenna Bush… people may not know who you are.’”
Jenna laughed it off now, but it’s clear she spent years trying to escape the “nepo baby” label.
She admitted, “I think it’s hard because people want them to fail.” She said she and her twin sister became “serious workaholics” just to prove they belonged.
Today, she embraces both names. “I actually like having both.”
And honestly, Jenna Bush Hager is now a brand all on its own.
