HGTV favorite Jenny Marrs is starting 2026 differently.
And for good reason.
After a year of loss and heartbreak, the Fixer to Fabulous star took her family to Europe. She wanted to focus on one thing. Time.
‘We Chose to Be More Intentional’
On January 3, Jenny shared a series of emotional photos and videos from Italy. The message behind them was clear.
“After a year of immense loss and grief for our family, we have chosen to be more intentional than ever with our most precious resource: time,” she wrote.
No filters. No fluff. Just honesty.
Jenny said the family went back to a spot that gives them peace, joy, and perspective. Italy. Surrounded by close friends who feel like family. Far away from the noise of daily life.
Healing on Ancient Streets
Jenny painted a vivid picture of what this reset looked like.
“Here on these ancient streets, we exhaled deeply together. We laughed heartily,” she shared.
She talked about shared meals, deep talks, and golden sunlight across the valley. Quiet moments helped stitch their hearts back together.
“I boarded the train this morning with a heart that feels a little more stitched together,” she added, before signing off with, “Alla prossima, Italia!”
It was not just a vacation.
It was survival.
Fans Feel the Emotion
Followers immediately filled the comments with support.
“Your family desperately needed a reset,” one fan wrote.
Another added, “The joy is so evident in your faces.”
One comment stood out.
“The way you described this made me take a deep breath.”
Jenny replied simply. She gets it.
A ‘Really, Really Hard Year’
Just days earlier, Jenny opened up about how brutal 2025 had been.
She shared that her family lost several loved ones in one year: Dave Marrs’ mother, her grandmother, their cherished dog Dolly, and close friends Bob and Jill.
“2025 was a really, really hard year for our family,” she admitted.
Despite the grief, Jenny said she still sees gratitude and faith guiding her forward.
“I’m ending this year a bit melancholy,” she wrote. “But I’m also grateful.”
Loss That Hit Close to Home
Fans of Fixer to Fabulous watched some of that pain unfold on screen.
During Season 7, Jenny and her husband Dave Marrs renovated a cabin for close friends Bob and Jill. Bob died during the renovation. Jill passed away shortly after filming wrapped.
“It was a really, really personal one,” Jenny said of the episode.
The cabin, once meant as a gift, is now used by the Marrs family as a place of remembrance.
