Kail Lowry has had enough of people discrediting her hustle. In a new TikTok clip, the Teen Mom alum fired back at critics who say she owes everything to MTV.
“MTV did not go get my degree for me. MTV did not write my books for me. MTV did not start my podcast for me. In fact, MTV wanted to buy my podcast from me,” she said firmly.
Kail reminded her followers that she used reality TV to create something bigger. “Yes, MTV helped launch me and propel me into different avenues… but with the money that I made from the show, I continued to better my life.”
Not Just TV Money
Kail Lowry rattled off her accomplishments with zero hesitation. “Started three podcasts, a podcast network, wrote four books… I invest my money.” She also highlighted her philanthropy: “I created a scholarship fund. I donate all the time. I give back every single year for the past five, six years.”
She made it clear she could have gone a very different route. “The alternative would have been for me to sit on welfare, stay on welfare, abuse the system, take it from someone who needed it. Instead, I turned around and donated and gave back.”
Her message was simple: thank you MTV for the start, but the empire was built by her.

Fans Are Divided
The comments lit up immediately. One wrote, “‘I wanna thank me’ 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.” Another praised, “Watching Kail go from a homeless kid to this SUPER SUCCESSFUL stable and dedicated mother has been amazing.”
Supporters flooded in. “Definition of self made 💖,” one user said, while another cheered, “Queen Kail 👑.”
But critics weren’t convinced. One argued, “Without MTV no one would listen to a podcast or read a book, I think that’s the point ppl try to make.” Others brushed off the debate entirely: “How many years do people think you owe MTV?! MTV is old news already in my eyes.”
Even amid the back-and-forth, many focused on Kail herself. “That blue on you is 100% your color,” one fan added, ignoring the drama altogether.
Kail Lowry’s Message
Kail isn’t pretending she’s perfect, but she’s standing firm. She admitted, “Yeah, I am not perfect, for sure,” but doubled down on the fact that she built her success on her own back.
It was the ultimate clapback – not just to haters, but to anyone still stuck on the idea that MTV created her.
