Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Why She Left Kanye West

Kim Kardashian shared updates about her co-parenting with Kanye West. On Call Her Daddy, she told Alex Cooper that Kanye hasn’t asked to see their four kids “in months.””

“What do you think co-parenting with Kanye West is like?” Kim said with a laugh, before admitting, “I think it’s all good, and then I just wake up and there are all these tweets about how I’ve kidnapped the kids. And I’m like, it’s not a kidnapping. It’s a divorce.”

The SKIMS mogul’s tone was calm, but her words hit hard. “It’s probably been a couple months since we’ve heard from him,” she confessed.

Kim stated she’s not stopping Kanye from seeing North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. She said, “Every time he’s asked, I’ve talked to the lawyers and I always let him see the kids.” That’s just who I am.”

She added, “If there’s a time where it’s really unhealthy, I’ll say, ‘Let’s do it here at my house,’ or figure out a different time.”

“I Raise the Kids Full-Time”

Kim explained that she’s the primary caregiver. “I raise the kids full time. They live with me,” she said. “He lives in all these different countries and I send them to Saudi Arabia, Italy, Japan — wherever he is. Every time he asks, we manage it really well.”

Despite their public drama, Kim insisted she never bad-mouths Kanye in front of the kids. “I never say anything negative about my kid’s dad,” she said. “The last thing my kids need is to hear it from me.”

Her focus, she said, remains on protecting their mental and emotional well-being.

Kim reflected on her marriage. She shared that instability and emotional chaos led her to leave. “Lack of stability was a big thing,” she explained. “We had, like, five Lamborghinis, and I’d come home and they’d all be gone.”

She continued, “If he was in an episode, he’d give them away to his friends. It was confusing. Once my mental health started to get affected and I couldn’t parent the way I needed to, I had to save myself to be a better mom.”

The star believes her children will understand one day. “When everyone’s older, they’ll see I did what I had to. You don’t really know what it’s like until you go through it.”

Kanye’s Erratic Public Outbursts Continue

Kanye, now going by Ye, has repeatedly accused Kim of keeping him from their kids. He once said, “This white woman and this white family have control of these highly influential black kids now. It’s like war.”

In another clip, he declared, “I’m gonna go get these kids, bro.”

Kim appeared unfazed by the noise. “It goes in waves and phases,” she said. “It’s a lot of work, but I welcome a healthy relationship between my kids and their dad.”

Sympathy or Skepticism?

The internet quickly erupted with mixed reactions to Kim’s confession. Some defended her, calling Kanye’s behavior “unacceptable.”

One user wrote, “Being a deadbeat dad should be illegal, not a choice.” Another added, “He’s very mentally ill and has a huge ego. Bad combo.”

But others accused Kim of hypocrisy. “She chose to marry him and kept having kids knowing he was crazy,” one comment read. “Come on, she ain’t no victim.”

Another critic claimed, “She stays keeping Kanye’s name in her mouth. Kim hasn’t had a storyline since him.”

Fans noted that airing private family matters could impact the kids later on. “Laughing about your kids’ father on media is not necessary,” one viewer wrote. “The kids are growing. She should avoid this topic.”
