Kim Kardashian spoke openly on The Graham Norton Show. She shared how the Kardashian family transformed from Beverly Hills socialites to the world’s most famous reality stars. Surprisingly, it all began with a last-minute pilot. No one expected it to succeed.
“We Just Got Thrown Into It”
When Graham Norton asked if it was her father’s fame that sparked their rise, Kim gave a thoughtful answer.
“Maybe a combination,” she began. “My stepdad was doing reality shows, and he was kind of out there in the spotlight a lot. Hanging out with Paris Hilton and being part of that life definitely played a role.”
Kim said it all happened by chance: “They asked us to shoot a pilot. We had no idea what it would really turn into. Then a show fell through that they were doing on E!, and they were like, ‘Can you start filming next week and do a whole series?’ So we just kind of got thrown into it and it lasted 20 years.”
The audience erupted in applause when she added with a smile, “So yeah, it’s our 37th season filming a reality show.”
Graham looked stunned and joked, “That must be a record!”
Kim nodded. “Well, we switched networks, so we did 20 seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, 10 seasons of spinoffs, and now this is season seven of The Kardashians.”
“We Filmed Every Crazy Thing That’s Possibly Happened”
When Graham asked whether the family ever recreated scenes, Kim laughed. “No, we didn’t have to,” she said. “Every time we were filming something, sometimes at the end of the season, we’d be like, ‘Okay, we’re going to be so boring now. We’ve filmed every crazy thing that’s possibly happened to us. What could we possibly film next?’”
She paused for comedic timing. “And then my stepdad will turn into a woman,” she said, as the audience gasped and laughed. “And we were like, okay, we have two more seasons. We’re good.”
