Kody Brown is no longer pretending everything is perfect.
In the latest episode of Sister Wives, the former polygamist surprised viewers. He admitted that his marriage to Robyn Brown is really strained after the Brown family’s collapse.
“Robyn and I are fighting for our marriage and life together,” Kody said in a confessional, according to Us Weekly.
“We have been going through four years or more of breakup with the family.”
Short sentences. Big admission.
‘When I’m Brave and Kind, We’re Good’
Kody admitted that the relationship only works when he shows up as his best self.
“Robyn and I have a great relationship when I’m being me,” he said. “When I’m being brave and kind.”
But that version of Kody does not always stick around.
Fans have watched his marriages unravel one by one. Christine left in 2021. Janelle followed in 2022. Meri confirmed her split in 2023. Robyn is the last wife standing and even that bond is being tested.
Robyn Says Kody Slips Back Into ‘Angry Divorced Guy’ Mode
Robyn did not sugarcoat the situation.
“We go through these periods where he is back to himself and we are who we usually are,” she explained. “And then something will happen and he reverts back to the angry divorced guy.”
That line landed hard.
Robyn admitted Kody still gets frustrated and angry. But she also gave him credit for trying.
“He’s trying very hard to get it right,” she said. “And I think the apologies were a good thing.”
Robyn Already Forgave Him
A key moment happened when Robyn shared that she forgave Kody well before his official apology.
“There’s a lot of charity I had for you through it all,” she told him. “Because I had gone through my own divorce and I know how toxic it can get.”
She talked about her first marriage to David Preston Jessop. She showed she knew the emotional harm divorce can bring.
Kody Once Considered Walking Away From Robyn Too
This admission hits differently when paired with what Kody revealed last season.
During Season 19, he admitted he was so broken by his divorces that he thought about leaving Robyn as well.
“There were days that were unfair to Robyn that I thought about just walking away,” he said at the time. “I was so broken, I became self-destructive.”
Months later, while promoting Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Kody said his relationship with Robyn was “solid.” He also called her his “favorite person in the world.””
Two statements. One marriage. A lot of damage in between.
Why This Matters
This is the most honest Kody has sounded in years.
No bravado. No control. Just a man trying to keep the last relationship he has left.
Whether Robyn and Kody survive this chapter remains to be seen. But for the first time, the cracks are no longer hidden.
