Brandi Glanville has battled a mystery illness for years. It changed her face, shattered her confidence, and led her into a dark time in her life. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum is finally getting answers. The news affected her family deeply; her mother even burst into tears.
The 53-year-old reality star confirmed her diagnosis on December 4. This ended a “hellish” medical spiral that lasted nearly two years and kept her housebound. She didn’t reveal the exact illness yet, but she told TMZ, “I finally have an answer, so I’m just thrilled.”
Glanville admitted the emotional toll was brutal, explaining, “I turned into an introvert… pretty much been in my house for two years.” She also opened up about the frightening thoughts she battled during her lowest moments, saying, “I don’t want to live this life. I had those thoughts, which were really frightening because I’ve never been like that.”
Her honesty paints a clear picture: this wasn’t cosmetic, and it wasn’t in her head. Something serious was happening, and no one could tell her what.
Brandi Glanville says she has finally received a diagnosis for her facial disfigurement after previously believing it might be a parasite. She has not revealed the diagnosis yet but says she will be sharing it soon. “I have a long road ahead of me to get fully better, but I… pic.twitter.com/v6TlvSVpZR

A Nightmare That Started After a Trip to Morocco
Brandi first noticed something was terribly wrong after a January 2023 trip to Morocco. She described lumps, swelling, and fluid “jumping around” her face. Doctors brushed it off as filler issues, but Brandi insisted, “I have lumps on my face and they’re moving around.”
She spent two years seeking answers. During that time, she met 21 doctors. They often gave her dismissive explanations. Her symptoms spread from her face to her shoulder, collarbone, neck, and arm. “I spent two years being told there was really not anything wrong with me,” she said.
The turning point happened when she met Dr. Michael Scoma, an infectious disease specialist. He made a strict plan to clear her deep tissue infection. Treatment included IV antibiotics and antifungal medications delivered through a PICC line.
Dr. Scoma suggested that the infection acted like a parasite. That’s why her symptoms “jumped” and spread. He added, “Once the infection is fully controlled, we can evaluate any next steps to support her recovery.”
Brandi Says Life Is Finally Moving Forward
Despite the long road ahead, Brandi said she’s slowly regaining her confidence.
“It’s been a slow process, but I’m finally getting back to my normal routine,” she told Us Weekly last month.
She recently moved into a new home and called it “a fresh start.” She’s back filming her YouTube series and planning future projects. “I’m enjoying keeping things simple and taking care of myself,” she added.”
Even so, the wounds from the past two years are still raw. Her new diagnosis gives her hope, but she admitted recovery will be slow. “I have a long road ahead of me to get fully better,” she told TMZ.
After everything she’s endured, the relief on her face is unmistakable. For the first time in years, Brandi Glanville finally knows what she’s fighting.
