90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days brought strong emotions and tension as Rick and Trisha reached a breaking point.
Rick flew from California to Madagascar to meet Trisha. They built their relationship online first. The visit quickly exposed cracks neither could ignore.
Both came with baggage.
Both carried trust issues.
And both struggled to feel secure.
The episode made one thing clear. This relationship stood on shaky ground.
Money Accusations Spark Heated Fight
Trouble erupted shortly after Rick and Trisha checked into their hotel.
Rick accused Trisha of caring too much about money. He said her requests made her seem “bougie” and implied she treated him like a walking wallet.
Trisha pushed back hard.
“But I am asking for little things,” she said.
“You just go, ‘Oh you act like a bougie. Oh you act like I am somebody’s sugar daddy.’ Did I say that?”
Rick did not back down.
“You didn’t say it,” he replied, “but you act like somebody’s sugar baby.”
That comment landed badly.
“I feel like this trip is not starting on the right foot,” Trisha admitted.
Honestly, she was right.
Rick’s Past Trauma Comes To The Surface
Later, the mood shifted.
The couple walked along the beach. The yelling stopped. The defenses lowered.
In his confessional, Rick admitted what was really going on.
“I am here to find my future wife,” he said.
“And I am serious about Trish being that one.”
He praised her presence. He admitted he felt drawn to her. But he also acknowledged their unresolved issues.
Rick apologized for his words. Then he revealed the real trigger.
“I was married to Chinny for seven years,” he explained.
“She had higher expectations than what I could realistically provide.”
That marriage ended badly. Rick said money destroyed it.
“That’s why I tried to be really straightforward with Trish about my financial situation.”
It explained a lot.
Rick feels guilty about what he did so he’s punishing Trisha by projecting and pushing her away. He hasn’t even told her yet! He keeps trying hard to find something wrong with her and can’t come up with anything. #90dayfiance

Trisha Finally Says What Rick Needed To Hear
Trisha listened. She did not interrupt. Then she reassured him.
“I know that you are not rich,” she told him.
“I’m not asking a lot. Just my needs.”
She made one thing clear. This was not about luxury.
When she moves to the U.S., she will leave her country, her job, and her life behind. She just wanted to feel safe.
“I would not leave you for money,” Trisha promised.
“You are enough for me.”
That was the moment Rick needed.
Rick Admits His Insecurities Nearly Ruined Everything
Rick looked relieved. Almost emotional.
“I’m starting to feel better,” he said in his confessional.
“That’s what I need to feel.”
He admitted insecurity had caused mistakes in past relationships. He did not want history to repeat itself.
“I really do care about Trish,” Rick said.
“I want this to work.”
From the outside, this felt like a rare moment of honesty on the show.
No shouting.
No accusations.
Just two people trying to understand each other.
Whether that lasts is another story.
