Sister Wives: Christine Brown Admits She Feels Like a “Crappy Mom”

Christine Brown’s heart broke on Sister Wives when she learned her son Paedon plans to move far away. The 25-year-old said he’s moving from Utah to North Carolina. This choice confused and upset Christine.

“Paden is moving to North Carolina. It’s actually rubbish. Why does he need to move as well?” Christine said, her voice breaking. “It’s hard that my kids don’t want to live close to me.”

Paedon just finished his military service. He said the move isn’t only about a new view. “I lost a best friend,” he said quietly, referring to his late brother, Garrison. “She lost a son, and I lost a best friend. I really want to be close to her. I really want to be close to Maddie and Maddie’s kids.”

It’s a heartfelt confession that shows his grief and his need for comfort. He believes he can only find this comfort with his siblings.

The emotional conversation hit Christine hard. She felt inadequate as more of her kids chose to live near Janelle instead of her.

“Sometimes I feel like Janelle is a better mom because they’re choosing to live next to her,” Christine confessed. “I feel like a crappy mom because they’re not choosing me.”

Even with the pain, she found comfort in one thing: her children rely on someone she truly trusts. “Janelle is someone that I trust,” she said. “I trust her influence on Paedon.”
