Sarper Breaks His Silence
Sarper posted a wedding photo with a tear running down the center. He captioned it with a simple, heavy line. “Our fairytale love story has come to an end,” he wrote, according to Yahoo Entertainment. He said the relationship started four years ago in Turkey. He called Shekinah his first real love. He admitted the split still hurts, but said one thing was certain: they simply couldn’t make it work anymore.
Sarper explained the couple spent years long-distance after meeting in 2022. He moved to the U.S. on a K-1 visa in late 2024 to finally close that gap. He said they both tried their best. Sometimes, he wrote, best still isn’t enough.
Denying Shekinah’s Accusations
Shekinah had accused Sarper of using the show to promote his comedy career rather than save their marriage. She wrote that he only recommitted to her out of pity, all while secretly planning to leave. Sarper pushed back directly on that claim. “I never chose fame or money over her,” he wrote, according to TVInsider. He said he wishes they could have found peace together and built the simple life they once imagined.
He also laid out a specific timeline. He said the two have actually been separated since early 2026, at least eight months before this public announcement. He said neither of them has seen the marriage as real in months. “In my heart and in my mind, I am SINGLE now,” he wrote.
Shekinah’s Side of the Goodbye
Shekinah posted her own farewell message around the same time. She thanked fans who genuinely wanted the relationship to work, and apologized that it didn’t end the way anyone hoped. She became more personal when she spoke to her daughter. She apologized for her daughter having to see her mother go through another failed relationship. She also said she was sorry Sarper never put in the effort to really know her daughter once the cameras stopped rolling.
