90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way just delivered one of its most uncomfortable moments yet.
In Episode 16, “Crikey!”, which aired on Dec. 22, Season 7 couple Madelein Perez and Luke Berry dealt with a possible pregnancy.
The timing could not have been worse.
The couple is caught in endless fights. They have doubts about their marriage and serious questions about compatibility. Now, a pregnancy scare pushes everything to the edge.
“If I Have a Baby, I Need Stability”
The tension explodes when Madelein admits she might be pregnant.
She does not sound excited.
She sounds terrified.
“I really like so scared about if he’s positive,” Madelein says.
“Because if I have a baby, like I need to have stability.”
That word keeps coming up.
Stability.
And right now, she does not feel it.
Luke looks stunned.
He struggles to process what he is hearing.
Luke Panics as Reality Hits
Luke immediately asks the question viewers expected.
“I’m confused. Are you telling me that you’re pregnant right now?”
Madelein tries to calm the moment but cannot hide her fear.
“I can’t be,” she replies, though uncertainty lingers.
Luke spirals.
“Holy s. This stresses me the s out right now,” he blurts.
Madelein fires back through tears.
“You don’t know how stressful, how scared and stressful I am.”
Neither feels safe.
Neither feels ready.
Compatibility Questions Come Back Up
As the conversation continues, the pregnancy scare turns into a full relationship autopsy.
Luke admits the truth.
“I hope that we can work on this relationship,” he says.
“But right now I’m not confident that we’re working.”
He reminds her of a conversation they had just one day earlier.
“We talked yesterday. Like, are we compatible? Can we not fight?”
“And all we’ve done is continue to fight.”
That lands hard.
The Fight That Pushes Madelein Over the Edge
The argument escalates fast.
Madelein demands to know who started the fight that day.
Luke insists, “I didn’t try and fight today.”
She pushes back.
“No. I said, please. No.”
Luke tries to reset.
“I don’t want to argue. Do you want to go try this?”
Madelein shuts down completely.
“No. Leave me alone.”
Her emotions spill over.
“I should be happy. You look at me, happy,” she cries.
“How can I be happy if I am f***ing two days to supposedly get married?”
That line says everything.

The Pregnancy Test Becomes Inevitable
Luke pleads for them to face reality.
“Let’s please try and be happy about this,” he says.
“Can we take this test?”
He frames it as hope.
“If you are pregnant and we’re gonna have a baby, then this means we’re having a family.”
Madelein is not convinced.
Still, she knows she cannot avoid it.
In a confessional, she admits the truth.
“I am not ready to get the test,” she says.
“But I need to know what is going on.”
She walks to the bathroom.
The weight of the moment hangs heavy.
