Angie Katsanevas is settling the friendship rankings ahead of Season 7. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star opened up about where she currently stands with each of her castmates, and her answer about who she is closest to is not the pairing most fans would guess.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Katsanevas said, “I’m definitely closest with Heather Gay right now, I mean there’s really no question.” The two have known each other since high school, long before either joined the show, and their friendship has had a rocky patch or two on camera, including a difficult start to season 4. Since then, they have rebuilt a strong bond both on and off screen.
That answer might catch some viewers off guard, since Katsanevas and Mary Cosby have had one of the show’s more heavily featured friendships in recent seasons. Katsanevas made clear the two are still in a good place despite online speculation about a falling out. She specifically addressed rumors that she and Cosby had unfollowed each other on Instagram, saying, “I love Mary. I did not unfollow her, I did not remove her as a follower.”

Now, she feels real respect for her. With Lisa Barlow, a friendship that predates the show by years, Katsanevas described ending the season in a positive place, though she admitted she has not heard from Barlow since filming wrapped. She still called Barlow someone she loves like a sister.
Beyond the cast dynamics, Katsanevas teased that Season 7 will spend more time on the women’s individual lives. Speaking separately with Byrdie, she said there is a bigger focus this season on each woman personally rather than just the group as a whole.
