RHOBH: Brandi Glanville Reveals Her Health Battle Has Left Her Almost Completely Isolated

Brandi Glanville has spent months detailing the physical and financial cost of her health battle. Now she is opening up about a quieter consequence: how much of her social life has disappeared entirely.

Speaking with TMZ, Glanville said she began pulling away from friends who tried to check in on her over the past few years, eventually ignoring calls and texts altogether. She explained that the reason wasn’t a lack of care, it was that she had nothing new to tell them, since her condition remained unexplained for so long. Some friends assumed she was depressed and doubted anything physical was actually wrong, which only made the isolation harder. These days, she says her regular company is mostly limited to her sons, Mason and Jake, whom she shares with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian. “My kids come over and see me,” she said, describing herself as home “all day, every day” otherwise.

Her treatment schedule leaves little room for anything else. Glanville has said her daily IV treatments can last up to 18 hours. In this interview, she mentioned she usually has only about two hours free. Often, she spends that time at the pharmacy instead of with friends. She also said she has developed real anxiety about leaving the house at all, joking that at least her dogs love her no matter how she looks these days.

Glanville explained why she decided to join Special Forces this year. She faced many challenges but chose to participate anyway. She said she didn’t really want to do the show but needed the paycheck, and at the time doctors had told her nothing was wrong. She said her thinking was simple: if she faced a serious illness she didn’t understand, she might as well earn some money while she could.

Support has still found its way to her despite the isolation. Earlier this month, Gina Rodriguez started a GoFundMe to help with her treatment costs. It has since received donations from former RHOBH stars Kyle Richards and Camille Grammer, as well as Claudia Jordan from Real Housewives of Atlanta. Glanville has said she was overwhelmed by how many people donated, shared the fundraiser, or simply checked in on her.

A Harder Story to Tell Than the Medical One

Most coverage of Glanville’s health battle has focused on diagnoses, treatments, and how her appearance has changed. This part of the story is less visible but arguably harder to talk about. Losing your health is one kind of loss. Losing the people who used to check in on you, even when it’s partly your own doing, is a different and lonelier one. Glanville makes an important point: her isolation came from exhaustion and unanswered questions. It wasn’t a sign of mental issues. This distinction matters because it affected how her friends viewed the situation.
