Shannon Beador has seen the video, and she has notes. Comedian Heather McDonald posted a viral clip poking fun at Shannon’s well-documented tendency to fall on camera during The Real Housewives of Orange County, captioned “POV: You go to Shannon Beador’s acting school.”
Shannon addressed it directly on Jamie Kennedy’s podcast, bringing up the criticism herself before Kennedy played the clip for viewers.
“Some people are saying that this season, season 20, that I’m trying to fall all the time or that I’m trying to be phony,” she said.

Her Response Had An Edge To It
Once the video played, Shannon did not hide her irritation, though she wrapped it in a joke of her own.
“She clearly spent an entire day filming and editing and being obsessed with me. So, keep talking, Heather,” Shannon said. Kennedy admitted he had seen the video and that it made him laugh, prompting Shannon to needle the effort behind it further: “It must have taken at least one day to film.”
Kennedy then explained the video’s actual implication: that Shannon lacks a real storyline this season and manufactures falling moments to compensate. Shannon rejected that framing directly.
“I do fall, but don’t say I went to acting school for it, or don’t say that I’m purposely falling because I don’t have a storyline,” she said.
A Pointed Reminder About Their History
Shannon also brought up her personal relationship with McDonald, and the subtext was hard to miss.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have invited her to my home for barbecue with my family. Maybe I shouldn’t have taken her to the USC game sitting on the 50-yard line. Maybe I shouldn’t have done that,” she said.
That is a pointed way to respond to a mockery video: not just denying the claim, but noting exactly how much access and hospitality she had extended to the person making fun of her. It reframes the video from a stranger’s joke into something closer to a friend punching down.

Asked directly what her season 20 arc actually is, Shannon kept it simple. “I’m gonna be Shannon Beador,” she said.
That answer works better than it might read on paper. Shannon has spent the lead-up to this season describing it as a return to lighter, sillier energy after a genuinely rough stretch. Speaking to Extra TV ahead of the premiere, she said she was “more on the silly side” this year and described the season as feeling “nostalgic,” like a callback to her early years on the show before things got dark.
If the entire pitch for her season is simply being herself without a manufactured plot, mocking her for lacking a storyline somewhat misses what she says she is actually going for.
