Shekinah Garner cannot escape the fallout from one moment on 90 Day: The Last Resort. Her comment to castmate Thaís Ramone, telling her to “go back to your country,” sparked immediate backlash. It nearly caused a physical fight on set.
Now Garner, who stars alongside her husband Sarper Güven, is speaking out. She says fans are missing the full story, and she is putting the blame on the show’s producers.
90 Day Fiance: Shekinah Says Security Just Watched
In a series of Instagram Stories on July 1, Garner said that production and security did nothing while she was attacked. “Tons of DMs of ppl asking why security didn’t step in and help me when I was being attacked,” she wrote. “I would love to know this also.”
Güven backed up her account, saying security was close enough to hear him. “I was literally looking security right in the eyes as they SAT at the other end of the bench I was on, and you can hear me shouting at them ‘get this [expletive] out of here.’ They didn’t move.” That is a pretty damning detail if true. Security sitting a few feet away during a physical altercation is not a small oversight.
90 Day Fiance: Producers Blame It On A “Miscommunication”
Garner said the show’s producers later blamed the whole situation on confusion. “In a follow-up meeting about it producers told me security was waiting for a cue from producers to step in,” she wrote.
She did not hold back about what could have happened as a result. “This miscommunication could have cost me the loss of an eye or permanently being disfigured if it wasn’t for my husband helping to block the swings.” That is a serious accusation. If true, it means the show’s own delay put Garner at real physical risk.
90 Day Fiance: Why Did Security Step In Before, But Not This Time?
Garner also mentioned an earlier fight this season between Guillermo and Sarper. Security acted quickly then. “It’s really interesting how quickly security stepped in when it came to Guillermo and Sarper’s brawl,” she wrote.
Then she went further, accusing producers of wanting the fight to happen. “My theory is that producers wanted to LET IT HAPPEN.”
That is about as direct as an accusation gets. Garner is not hinting here. She is stating it outright.
90 Day Fiance: She Almost Walked Off The Show
The altercation nearly ended Garner’s time on the franchise entirely. She explained that her contract should have protected her. “Our contracts state that physical altercations will get us removed from the show, so I asked for her to be removed,” Garner wrote.
Instead, producers gave her a different answer. “Producer told me it was at ‘his discretion’ and because Sarper also got physical, they would both have to be removed… or neither be removed.”
Garner admitted she wanted to leave.
“I was fine with going home, I wanted to! Sarper and I had serious conversations about doing so. Ultimately, I followed his lead and stayed, but nothing was the same after this.” That last line hits hard. Even though she stayed, it sounds like something between her and the show broke for good after that night.
90 Day Fiance: Shekinah Says She’s Done With The Franchise
Garner confirmed this would be her last 90 Day-related show. She also said she felt “disgusted” that she ever agreed to be part of it.
That’s a powerful way to end a franchise. It shows how much this experience changed her view of the show.
The drama traces back to a night out where Garner confronted Patrick Mendes. She believed he encouraged Guillermo Rojer to divorce his wife, Kara Rojer.
When Patrick’s wife, Thaís, stepped in to defend him, the argument spiraled. That is when Garner shouted the line that changed everything: “Get this [expletive] out of here. Go back to your country. You suck.”
90 Day Fiance: The Cast Turns On Shekinah
The comment did not go over well with the group. Thaís, a Brazilian immigrant in the US, couldn’t believe someone married to an immigrant would say that. She called the comment “so disrespectful” and said Garner had “totally crossed the line.”
Rebecca Parrott agreed with Thaís. Kara was open to Garner’s side at first. But the comment made her change her mind completely. Guillermo spoke out, noting that telling someone to “go back to your country” means more now because of the ongoing immigration debate in the US.

Shekinah is such a hypocrite! SHE started fights with everyone! SHE was the aggressor! sHE pushed a drink at Thaís FIRST! She was rude to everyone and clearly jealous of the other women, saying nasty things on the show and on social media, like calling Pao a heifer! We are all starting to see her face become as ugly as her insides, with all her procedures making her look masculine and horse-like. I was not a fan of most of the women on the Last Resort this season, but compared to Shekinah, none even come close to being as ugly, gross, nasty, and pathetic. We all heard her repeatedly yell “Go Back To Your Country!”, multiple times! How dare she be so cruel and tone-deaf in a time in US history where US citizens are being killed and injured along with many waiting for the LEGAL immigration process to go through! It shows what an evil, lack heart she has. I hope we never have to listen to her moronic, juvenile taunts or ever see her bizarre looking creepy mask-face (or those baboon ass lips) again! Please go away and never show your ugly, hateful, racist mug on tv again! I heard Sarper left her, and for his sake I hope it’s true, because she will only make him miserable and destroy any chance he has for success. Her insecurities make her nasty, jealous, and dangerous…and my guess is the producers were hoping she’d get slugged, since she was so clearly instigating sh*t the whole time they’ve been there!
Well said! I have nothing else to add.
