Teen Mom alum Tyler Baltierra has a public message for his wife. He says Catelynn Lowell is “down 30lbs,” and he wants everyone to talk about that, not the usual Halloween fashion fails.
Baltierra, 34, shared the post on Instagram on Sunday, November 1. It shows Lowell, also 34, in the same witch costume several years apart. Lowell has not spoken publicly about her health or fitness.
Tyler’s Message
Baltierra did not keep it short.
“Can we just take a moment to acknowledge how beautiful my wife is!? She’s down 30lbs & I’m so beyond proud of her!” he wrote. “This is what we should all be talking about in regard to our Halloween photos.”
He ended with a love note. “I love you babe @catelynnmtv & you’re always the most beautiful to me! #MyBabe #Soulmate #Queen #SexyWitch.”
The word “always” matters in that caption. He pairs the news with a clear point: he thinks she looked beautiful before, too.
The weight number comes only from Tyler. Catelynn has not confirmed it or explained her reasons, so it is best to treat it as his words, not hers.
The Family Halloween Photo
The day before, Baltierra posted a family photo. “HAPPY HALLOWEEN from The Baltierras!” he wrote.
He dressed as the comic book hero Nightwing. Lowell wore a purple and black witch outfit. Their three daughters joined in with a Stick Man costume, a Pennywise costume and a witch costume.
What Catelynn Has Said About Body Shaming
Lowell has been direct about how she wants to be treated. In 2023 she talked about it on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast.
“If I was ever being body-shamed or called out of my name in front of my kids, I would be gone,” she said. “Because I don’t want my children to think that that’s okay to be treated like that. So that’s kind of why I get angry.”
She spoke up again in May on TikTok after strangers commented on her daughter’s body in photos from a school event. Lowell called it “ridiculous.”
“Why do grown adults feel the need to comment on children’s and minors’ bodies?” she asked. She added that people can be “skinny-shamed” too. “It’s not just, like, a fat thing. Skinny people can be shamed too, and it’s horrible. Knock it off.”
Tyler’s Own Fitness Posts
Baltierra shares his own progress online. In August 2022, he wrote that he dropped 24 pounds and kept the strength he had built.
In July 2023, he posted before-and-after photos and wrote, “PROGRESSION > PERFECTION.” He explained that the scale matters less than overall body composition. “I still have a long way to go until reaching my goals,” he added.
Lowell supported him then. She commented, “Ayeeee my sexy man.”
Now he is returning the favor, in public and in his own words.
