My 600-Lb Life fans first met Isaac Martinez in 2021.
He was 23 years old.
He weighed 661 pounds.
And his life felt unbearable.
“My life has become such a struggle,” Isaac said at the start of his episode.
“Because of my size, everything is hard.”
Isaac lived in Hutchins, Texas, with his parents and siblings.
He dropped out of college to help care for his mother, who was battling cancer.

In Season 9, Episode 8, Isaac traveled to Houston to meet Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, known to fans as Dr. Now.
His first weigh-in stunned viewers.
The scale read 661 pounds.
“I have to change,” Isaac admitted.
“I don’t want to die.”
The journey did not move fast.
He lost 40 pounds in his first two months.
His goal was 80.
At the next appointment, he lost just 10 more.

Slow Progress and Small Wins
After meeting with psychologist Dr. Matthew Paradise, Isaac refocused.
The weight started to come off again.
He dropped 34 pounds.
Then another 39.
Dr. Now finally approved him for weight-loss surgery.
But there was one condition.
Isaac needed to lose 30 more pounds.

His weight stalled for months.

But Isaac struggled mentally.

Isaac re-enrolled in music school.
He continued trying to lose weight on his own.
By the end of the episode, he had not undergone surgery.

Isaac keeps a low profile.
He remains active on Facebook but avoids sharing recent photos.
Instead, he posts about crocheting.
It appears calming. Intentional.
His weight-loss progress remains private.
But reports suggest he can move around independently and handle daily tasks without assistance.
