Sarper Güven posted a photo of himself hooked up to an IV, explaining he had experienced heat exhaustion in Albuquerque while promoting his Stand Up for Jenny comedy benefit, a fundraiser supporting castmate Jenny Slatten’s ALS care.
“Don’t exhaust yourself too much guys there is nothing important than health,” he wrote. “The First IV of my life. I need to get better till Stand-up for.”
His estranged wife, Shekinah Garner, was not buying it.
Shekinah Questions Whether The Photo Was Staged
Shekinah went after the authenticity of the moment directly in the comments.
“I have so many questions. Like, did he set up a tripod and turn on a timer for the pic? Did he ask a ‘nurse’ to take it and if so, how many takes before he found the one that looked ‘bad enough’ to post? What kind of IV goes in your nose? Is this a med-spa or hospital?” she wrote. “Hope he got the attention he was looking for.”
Sarper responded by reposting her comment to his Instagram Story with two words: “Pure evil!!!!!”
Shekinah Escalates With A Bigger Accusation
Shekinah did not back down. She reposted Sarper’s story with her own reply.
“Hmmmm am I evil or am I just reacting to your abuse and calling you out on your s**t, Sarper!?” she wrote. “Let’s not forget I defended this man, put my life on hold to bring him to the US, let my own business suffer just to make his thrive, swallowed my hurt and embarrassment over being the butt of his jokes constantly, and rode HARD for him IN GENERAL just to get discarded once he got a little fame and money. Sorry but it’s VERY hard for me to feel bad for users and abusers.”
Sarper has not responded to that post, and neither have any of their Last Resort castmates.
A Second, More Serious Accusation Enters The Chat
The dispute widened when Sarper spotlighted a separate critic who questioned the fundraiser itself. “I’m calling your bluff. How much of this money from this so-called charity are you actually giving to Jenny?” the commenter wrote. “It looks like you are using her illness to promote your s**tty career.”
Sarper rejected the accusation outright. “Sometimes I lose my hope when I see this kind of evil piece of s**ts,” he wrote.
This is the part worth slowing down on. Claiming someone is using a friend’s terminal illness for personal gain is serious. It needs careful examination, not indifference. What is already on the record works against the accusation: Sarper’s first Stand Up for Jenny show sold out, prompting a second date at New York’s Broadway Comedy Club, and Sumit, Jenny’s own husband, publicly thanked Sarper by name for organizing it. The event was structured to send proceeds to Jenny’s care after expenses. This doesn’t show where every dollar goes, but it paints a clearer picture than the critic’s. Plus, it comes straight from the family the fundraiser aims to support.
