90 Day Fiancé's Jenny Shares An ALS Update, And Sumit Explains Why They Can't Leave India

Jenny Slatten is keeping fans informed about her ALS journey. Almost two months after sharing her diagnosis, the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star posted a new video with her husband, Sumit Singh. In it, she talks about how the disease is progressing.

“As you can hear, my voice is completely different. My speech is very slow now,” Jenny said in the video. “I’m still walking, but I get very tired, so I’m gonna keep walking, but probably in a wheelchair soon.”

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease. Jenny, 68, talks openly about how it affects her daily life.

Sumit Describes Her Current Condition

Sumit added his own perspective on how Jenny is managing.

“It’s hard for her to talk, it takes a lot of effort,” he said. “She can walk and do things. She’s still very much dependent on herself.”

The couple has been together since season one of The Other Way, seven years ago. Fans saw them face tough relationship challenges, like Sumit’s secret marriage. Their story is one of the most followed in the franchise. That history is part of why this update has resonated so deeply with viewers.

Why They Started A GoFundMe

After sharing the diagnosis, Jenny and Sumit started a GoFundMe to cover medical expenses. The response has moved them.

“A lot of people donated from the GoFundMe, thank you so much; that much love we didn’t expect,” Sumit said. He recognized their ambitious fundraising goal and shared why they chose it.

Jenny stated the core problem plainly: “I don’t have insurance in India.”

The fundraiser has brought in nearly $90,000 so far.

The Complication Keeping Them In India

Jenny currently lives in India with Sumit, and getting back to the United States is not a simple matter. Sumit explained the obstacles they face.

“Jenny can’t travel by herself, it’s not easy to travel for that long, and it’s not easy for me to get a visa,” he said. “I’m ready for it if it’s required.”

The couple made a plan. If they find good treatment options in the US and raise enough money, they will try to move back.

That puts them in a difficult position. Jenny needs care that might be easier to find in America. However, visas, long flights with a progressive illness, and finances are obstacles. The fundraiser is not just about medical bills. It is potentially the path home.

The couple wrapped up by pointing supporters to the fundraiser for those who want to help.
