Kourtney Kardashian’s quiet café break on The Kardashians didn’t go as planned. The mom of four found herself surrounded by people filming as she tried to eat a beignet, and it clearly got to her.
“They don’t go into stores. I don’t go into restaurants that often, like, so just even doing those types of things makes me feel alive,” Kourtney said before pausing to notice bystanders recording her. “Should we ask these people to stop so I can take a bite?”
Travis Barker, who stayed calm beside her, couldn’t resist pointing out the irony. “Babe, you’re in here with, like, big cameras,” he said, laughing. Fans online instantly sided with him.
The Kardashians: “Can I Just Eat a Beignet?”
Kourtney, visibly frustrated, continued: “This lady outside just zooming in while I chomp away. Can I just eat a beignet and get powdered sugar all over my face and drink my hot chocolate?”
The reality star said she likes talking to fans. But, she finds it hard to meet the expectation that she “owes” people access to her life whenever she’s out. “It’s more like this sense of, ‘Well, you’re out in public, so you owe it to us.’”
The Kardashians: Fans Aren’t Buying It
Viewers quickly took to social media to call out what they saw as double standards.
One wrote, “Travis saying ‘you have big cameras’ made me laugh so hard.”
Another joked, “If she doesn’t like the spotlight, what’s she been doing for the last 20 years?”
Some called it peak irony. They pointed out Kourtney’s complaints about privacy while filming a global reality show. “Please, get your small cameras away from MY big cameras,” one viewer quipped.
