Gina Kirschenheiter has already made up her mind about one part of her future with longtime boyfriend Travis Mullen, even though a wedding isn’t on the calendar yet. Speaking with Us Weekly, the RHOC star said she’s fully in favor of a prenup before she and Travis, both 42, tie the knot.
“I’m for it. I think everybody should do that. I think it’s smart,” Gina said. “I think it is just setting yourself up for financial success and I think it also eliminates a lot of the hard parts.”
RHOC: Why She Sees It As Practical, Not Pessimistic
Gina pushed back on the idea that wanting a prenup signals doubt about the relationship. She frames it as risk management for two different situations, not just divorce.
“Should something happen ultimately, you know, that you don’t want to happen, should you get divorced, it takes a lot of the messiness out of it,” she said. She went further, arguing love is actually the reason to get one, not a reason to skip it. “I think if you love someone, you should get a prenup. It’s not just about if you get divorced, right? It’s just, like, good financial planning.”
She extended the logic beyond divorce entirely, pointing to worst-case scenarios neither partner wants to think about. “Also, you don’t know what’s going to happen in life in general. God forbid something happens to myself or Travis. I want to know what that looks like too. I really think that everybody should sit down and do, like, financial family planning. It’s just smart.”
That framing reframes the whole conversation. A prenup, in Gina’s telling, isn’t a document you draft because you expect the relationship to fail. It’s a document you draft because you take the relationship, and the people depending on it, seriously enough to plan for anything.
RHOC: No Rush To The Altar
Despite having clear opinions about the legal groundwork, Gina made clear she isn’t in any hurry to actually get married. “I really just have no plans to plan for really, like, the unforeseeable future,” she said. “I want to do what I’m doing right now, which is taking care of my kids and building my business, and that’s what I’m focused on.”
That’s a rare stance for a reality star. They usually focus on engagements and weddings as key moments. Here, prioritizing kids and career over wedding plans stands out. Gina seems content to let the relationship exist on its own schedule rather than performing urgency for anyone watching.
