Brandi Glanville says she may finally get answers. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum shared on her Unfiltered podcast that she has exploratory surgery scheduled in a couple of weeks. Doctors hope it will help explain the facial symptoms she has lived with for four years.
What She Said About the Surgery
Glanville, 53, spoke with co-host James Moss on the October 8 episode. She said she is scared for her health. “I don’t know what’s making me sick,” she said, according to Yahoo Entertainment. She also said she has some good news.
Doctors plan to examine her eustachian tubes, sinuses, and gums. She said they will also hopefully place a balloon in her eustachian tubes to help everything drain. She was upbeat about it. “I’m excited to just get my life back,” she said, according to E! Online. She added that she did not think she would make it through these four years.
Two Different Explanations
Glanville has said for a long time that she believes a parasite is behind her symptoms. She still believes a living organism is involved. Her doctors have a different working explanation. According to E! Online, she said they believe she has a fungus that has left a benign tumor near her jaw. The surgery is meant to learn more. Until the results come back, nobody can say which explanation is right.
In September, she shared several diagnoses, including bacterial and fungal infections and mononucleosis. She also said her treatment includes an IV schedule of up to 18 hours a day and medical bills she has struggled to pay. A GoFundMe from her friend Gina Rodriguez has raised more than $22,000 so far.
A Long Wait for a Straight Answer
What stands out is how much she is leaning on one procedure. After four years, many doctors, and a lot of money, she is hoping this surgery will end the guessing. It may do that. It may also give a partial answer. Either way, she is doing this in public, and she is asking her followers to wait with her. The best thing to do now is wait for the results, not for guesses.
