Sister Wives: David Woolley Says He's Tired of Talking About Christine's Past, and It "Got Old"

David Woolley has had enough of Kody Brown coming up at home. In a new sneak peek from the Sister Wives Season 21 premiere, David tells wife Christine Brown he is done talking about her polygamist past. Christine pushes back, saying that past is the reason she is who she is.

“I Want to Know About You and I”

According to Us Weekly’s exclusive clip, as covered by The Blast, David says the topic wore thin over time. “At first I was OK, but then it got old,” he says. He explains that the talk is not just about Kody. It covers all of her exes. He says he knew what he signed up for when he married Christine. He still wants their conversations to be about the two of them. He even asks if they can talk about sports.

David draws a clear line. He says he is not married to Meri or Janelle, and asks what any of it has to do with him and Christine.

Christine’s Answer

Christine looks tense during the talk. She tells David polygamy shaped who she is, since it is all she knew. She also reminds him that he is her first experience with a monogamous relationship. Her parents were polygamists and she married into a plural family herself. Christine does agree her family history has nothing to do with how the two of them live now. David replies that he can hear her and listen, but doesn’t really want to.

Christine was spiritually married to Kody for more than 20 years before they split in November 2021. She married David in October 2023. The two sides of her life are still tied together. She shares six children with Kody, and she remains close to Janelle. Season 21 premieres Sunday, October 4, on TLC, without Kody and Robyn.

Two Fair Points That Don’t Fit Together

This clip adds context to the trailer moment where David said it was “either me or them.” Both people sound reasonable here. David wants a marriage that is not crowded by old relationships. Christine’s past is also her whole life story, her six kids, and the show that pays for all of it. That is hard to leave at the door. The real question is whether they can find a middle ground between “never mention it” and “always mention it.” The premiere will show whether they do.
