Shekinah Garner has made the split official. The 90 Day Fiancé star filed for divorce from Sarper Güven on Monday, just days after their breakup went public. Her filing also lists a separation date that differs from the one Sarper gave.
What the Court Papers Say
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Shekinah cited irreconcilable differences. She listed their wedding date as November 11, 2024. She listed their separation date as September 22, 2026. That is the same day she announced the split publicly. The filing says the couple share no minor children.
Shekinah is asking for spousal support. She noted that the couple’s property and debts still need to be sorted out. She told TMZ the decision was not easy. “I’ve reached a point of no return,” she said. She added that she is choosing to let go with love and move forward.
Two Timelines, Two Stories
Sarper has told a different story. In an Instagram post last week, he said the two had been separated since early 2026, at least eight months. He said he stayed “100% loyal” until he took off his wedding ring, and that he then began living as a single person. He also denied choosing fame or money over Shekinah.
Shekinah sees it another way. She posted that she still considered herself married after Sarper chose “the single life.” She said she stayed faithful despite hearing he was on dating apps and seen with other women. She also said the marriage began to feel like a “situationship.” She accused Sarper of turning their relationship into comedy material, saying she sometimes sat in his audience after crying minutes earlier. These are her claims. Sarper has denied the infidelity rumors, and neither claim has been tested in court.
Why the Date Gap Stands Out
The September 22 date is the detail to watch. Sarper says the marriage ended months ago. Shekinah’s filing says they separated the day she went public. Both can’t describe the same event. Divorce filings often become the official record that both sides have to respond to. Whatever Sarper files in reply will show how far apart these two versions really are.
