Dorit Kemsley’s divorce from PK Kemsley has moved from designer bags to a fight over whether their kids stay housed. In legal documents obtained by PEOPLE, Dorit, 50, alleges that PK, 58, informally agreed to cover the mortgage on their Los Angeles home in place of paying court-ordered child and spousal support, then simply stopped.
According to the filing, Dorit says she only learned the payments had lapsed when foreclosure notices started arriving. The couple shares daughter Phoenix, 10, and son Jagger, 12.
The Money Trail, By Dorit’s Account
Dorit’s filing does not claim PK is short on cash. It claims the opposite. She alleges he earns “at least $2,000,000 a year” with additional income streams outside the US, and that he currently holds $435,000 in cash.
“He also has $435,000 in cash in his bank account, which is not only available to pay Dorit support, but also exceeds the amount of money the parties need to bring PK’s manufactured mortgage debt current,” the filing states. “However, just as PK refuses to pay child and spousal support, he also refuses to pay the mortgage. Instead, he would prefer to divert his cash on hand to his own personal use.”
Dorit also accuses PK of misusing California Family Code §2108 by pushing to sell the LA home outright rather than go through trial, calling it a maneuver that would “render his wife and children homeless.” She is asking the court to deny that request.
Her filing seeks specific numbers: PK bringing the mortgage current, $21,086 a month in child support, $22,330 a month in spousal support, and $347,328 in retroactive support. Representatives for both Dorit and PK did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
This Isn’t The First Round Of This Fight
This filing builds on a dispute that has been escalating since May. At that time, Dorit’s attorney told PK’s legal team there was “no real risk of foreclosure” on the property and argued PK “has ample ability to honor his financial obligations, including making timely payment of the mortgages,” this as the couple reportedly owed $6 million across their mortgages.
PK’s side has told a different story throughout. In his own filings, he claimed he urged Dorit to work with lenders and realtors toward selling the property, and that she resisted. He has maintained that an immediate, court-ordered sale is necessary to protect the home’s remaining equity, proposing the proceeds go into a joint blocked account.
Dorit’s team has called the foreclosure threat part of a “starve-out strategy” and financial “gamesmanship” on PK’s part. They say Dorit is not opposed to selling the home in principle, but wants “financial guardrails and additional protections against PK’s ongoing financial tricks” before any sale moves forward.
Now She’s Answering His Spending Claims Too
Alongside the mortgage fight, Dorit is pushing back hard on a separate accusation: that her own spending helped cause the couple’s financial strain. PK has previously claimed Dorit spent close to $1 million on designer clothing and luxury expenses. Her legal team denies that framing entirely, arguing the real issue is PK’s failure to uphold his agreed obligations after moving out.
Documents obtained by PEOPLE and TMZ show Dorit’s side turning the spending question back on PK, alleging he spent $756,000 over several months, including $360,000 on travel, $55,000 on clothing from retailers like Hermès, $75,000 on dining, $160,000 in Venmo and Zelle payments, and $103,000 in cash withdrawals.
Neither set of figures has been independently verified, and both sides are presenting numbers designed to win a courtroom argument, not necessarily a complete accounting. What is clear is that this divorce has moved well past disagreements over lifestyle and into a direct fight over who controls the family’s remaining money, and who gets blamed for spending it.
Fans Are Choosing Sides
The dueling filings have split RHOBH viewers online. Some have sided with Dorit’s version of events. “If he’s not paying child support then her version is true. It makes sense he would agree to pay the bills instead,” one commenter wrote on X.
Others are not convinced, pointing to PK’s correspondence as the more credible account. “Read the email his attorney sent to the court,” one person wrote, arguing Dorit has resisted efforts to resolve the housing situation.
A third group of fans zeroed in on the part of this story that has nothing to do with who is right. “These rich-people divorce battles never get any less messy. Kids stuck in the middle while Hermès bags and mortgage notices pile up is just sad,” one commenter wrote.
That last reaction may be the most accurate read on where this case stands. Whoever is telling the fuller version of events, Phoenix and Jagger are the two people in this fight with no filings of their own.
