Gia Giudice has spent nearly two decades growing up in front of Bravo cameras. The Next Gen NYC star wants fans to see the woman she is now, not just call her “mini Teresa.”
In a candid interview, the 25-year-old shared her thoughts on her career, family trauma, her future on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and life beyond her famous last name. After years of watching major family scandals on reality TV, Gia feels this is her moment.
RHONJ: “I’m More Than Mini Teresa”
Gia expressed her pride in her mother, Teresa Giudice. She also hopes viewers see her own achievements.
“Over the past year, there have been a lot of milestones in my life that have really molded me into ‘This is Gia Giudice as an individual and as a brand,’ rather than ‘She’s a mini Teresa.'”
She added that she doesn’t view the nickname as an insult. “She’s iconic, but I wish people could also see who I am separately.” It’s a refreshing perspective from someone often seen as Teresa’s daughter, not as herself.
RHONJ: Could Gia Become a Real Housewife?
Gia isn’t ruling out a future on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. In fact, she believes the idea has crossed Andy Cohen’s mind. “I always knew one day it would be Andy Cohen’s dream to see that full-circle moment.”
She said she has no clue where her career will go after Next Gen NYC. But she didn’t rule out the chance of holding a Housewives diamond someday. When asked about her dream tagline, Gia didn’t hesitate.
“I don’t know what I’m doing here, but I guess I was made for this.” That certainly sounds like someone already preparing for reality TV’s next chapter.

RHONJ: Family Trauma Still Brings Her to Tears
Gia seems confident on camera, but she finds watching old RHONJ episodes very emotional. Watching her family’s struggles unfold again still hurts.
“Watching those moments, I cry at all of them.”
She praised her mother for giving everything to the show. “Watching it made me realize how much my mom has given to this show.”
Gia said that remembering those hard years shows her some wounds never fully heal. “That sting never goes away when you’re watching your family’s trauma back.”
RHONJ: Joe Giudice’s Deportation Changed Everything
One of the hardest chapters for Gia remains her father Joe Giudice’s deportation. She admitted she genuinely believed he would eventually return home. “My dad was deported. It was just a lot.”
Looking back, Gia also regrets how she viewed the situation as a teenager. She now realizes she focused too much on the milestones her father missed in her own life.
“I was very ‘me, me, me.'” Today, she feels more sympathy for her younger sisters. They spent even more of their childhood without their father. That level of reflection shows just how much Gia has matured over the years.
RHONJ: Next Gen NYC Helped Gia Find Herself
Gia credits several recent experiences with helping her step outside her family’s shadow. Winning Special Forces gave her confidence to finally move into her own apartment.
“Special Forces made me realize that I am OK on my own.” She admitted she stayed at home longer because she wanted to be available if her family needed her.
Now, she feels ready to build her own future. She launched her podcast, Casual Chaos. She expanded her career, too. Season 2 of Next Gen NYC will show viewers a whole new side of her.
RHONJ: Season 2 Promises More Drama
Gia believes the upcoming season of Next Gen NYC is much stronger than its debut season. “It’s night and day.” She said the cast knows each other better now. This makes every interaction feel more real.
After watching Season 1, Gia realized she was her own toughest critic. She saw that she spent too much time defending her friends. Instead, she needed to focus on herself.
“I looked at the things that I loved about myself and things I didn’t.” That self-awareness could completely change how viewers see her moving forward.
RHONJ: Teresa Still Plays a Huge Role
Even while creating her own identity, Gia remains incredibly close to her mother. The pair are now working together on Gia’s new restaurant, Il Vero, in New Jersey.
Teresa even helped decorate the restaurant and contributed recipes from her cookbook. Family clearly remains at the center of everything Gia does.
