A reiki party was supposed to clear the air on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. It ended with Angie Katsanevas saying something to Mary Cosby that stopped the whole room.
In the heat of the argument, Angie asked Mary, “What happened to your husband? What happened to your child? What are you talking about?” Mary told her to sit down and be quiet. By the end of the night, Mary said she never wanted to look at Angie again.

Angie was already angry. She was yelling at Bronwyn Newport, who she called a “snake,” when Mary stepped in. Mary said Angie was wrong and had lost her manners. She asked when Angie became so self-centered.
Angie answered with the question about Mary’s family. It was a personal shot at a woman who has spoken on the show about hard times and leaning on her faith.
Mary did not fight back with the same kind of insult. She told Angie to sit down. Then she left. Angie tried to make amends, but Mary said she was done.

The trouble started before the party. Bronwyn was frustrated with Angie after the last event. She felt Angie had been stirring the pot, and she wondered if Angie was dealing with something at home.
Mary had her own concerns. She told Bronwyn that Angie had changed. Mary said Angie seemed only focused on herself and that she did not like Angie doing a TikTok with Britani after how Britani treated her.
At the party, Mary pulled Angie aside. She said Angie never followed up after Mary left the earlier event alone. She told Angie she was “moving weird” and not being a good friend. She also said Angie has a “head of granite” and does not listen.
Angie said her feelings were hurt too. She told the producers she spends three hours on the phone with Mary every night. She also said Bronwyn was enjoying watching them fight.
RHOSLC: Angie’s Own Struggles
Earlier in the episode, Angie showed a different side. She showed off her new Porsche, the first car she bought with her own money. She also worked up the courage to tell her dad and brother about her marital struggles. She said she wakes up uneasy because of the distance with her husband, Shawn, who has been part of her family for 30 years.
Her father told her the family would support her no matter what she decides.
That context explains some of the pressure Angie is under. It does not excuse what she said. The best reading of the episode is that she was hurting, lashing out and lost control.
RHOSLC: The Reiki Reading
The reiki master arrived in the middle of the fight. She told Bronwyn she was all over the place and carried a lot. She told Angie to let go of anger and animosity. Lisa and Mary opted out of the readings.
It was good advice for the wrong moment. By the time the group sat down to talk, the damage was done.
Mary Cosby has not said whether she will ever forgive Angie. The rest of the season will show if a friendship that survived so much can survive this.
