Over ten years after a major scandal in Real Housewives history, Vicki Gunvalson admits the pain still lingers.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star talked about her well-known relationship with Brooks Ayers. She admitted that she still has questions after his fake cancer scandal. She also shared that she has found peace in a new relationship. She hopes to bring back the Tres Amigas in RHOC Season 20.
RHOC: Vicki Admits She Never Got Closure
At the RHOC Season 20 premiere, Vicki shared her lifelong love and trust for those nearest to her.
“When I love, I love hard, and I trust.” She said she never wanted to investigate the person she loved. “I don’t want to be a detective in a relationship. You tell me something, I’m gonna believe that.”
Looking back at Brooks Ayers, Vicki admitted she still doesn’t know the full truth. “I believed him, and who knows what the real story is because I never got to talk to him.”
She revealed Brooks disappeared without giving her any explanation. “He left me in the middle of the night, and that was it.”
RHOC: The Betrayal Still Hurts
Vicki admitted that the relationship caused emotional and financial scars. She has never fully healed from them.
“I never got closure on that guy, never.” She also reflected on how painful it was to invest so much in someone who ultimately betrayed her trust. “When you give your life to somebody and financially give money to those people, and then all of a sudden they lie to you. It’s hard.”
Brooks later confessed he made up medical documents about his cancer diagnosis. He insisted that Vicki did not know about the fake records.
RHOC: She Has Found Peace Again
Thankfully, Vicki says life looks very different today. She is happily dating developer Michael Smith. She says her priorities have changed as she’s gotten older.
“As I get older, it’s not just about the love tank. It’s about having peace and having quality relationships.” She praised Michael for respecting both her career and her privacy.
“I love him. I want the best for him. I want him to never be embarrassed by me.” It is refreshing to hear Vicki speak more about peace than drama. Fans have seen her face years of heartbreak. Now, she seems focused on protecting what truly matters.
RHOC: Season 20 Brings New Hope
Vicki teased that fans might finally see the Tres Amigas reconcile. “My job was to come in and bring peace, and I think I accomplished that. Wait and see.” Tamra Judge said she had just one big fight while filming, and it was with Vicki. Tamra says the fight began when Vicki mentioned her estranged daughter during a heated talk.
“It was warranted. She did something not very nice and talked about my child.” Tamra shared that she chose to avoid unnecessary drama this season. She reflected on her own struggles and saw her friend Teddi Mellencamp fight cancer.
She said the experience changed her outlook.
“I don’t need to call people out. I don’t need to be the tough girl.”
Whether RHOC Season 20 delivers peace or fresh chaos remains to be seen.
