Annemarie Wiley has filed for divorce from Marcellus Wiley, ending a 12-year marriage. Us Weekly reports that the filing occurred in Los Angeles on Monday, July 6. The reason given was irreconcilable differences. The couple married on June 18, 2014.
Annemarie, 42, and Marcellus, 51, have three kids: Marcellus Jr., 10, and daughters Ariya, 7, and Alivia, 6. Marcellus also has a daughter, Morocca, from a previous relationship.
What Annemarie Is Requesting
Annemarie wants full legal and physical custody of their children. She is not allowing Marcellus any visitation for now. She is also requesting spousal support and coverage of her attorneys’ fees.
She filed for a domestic violence restraining order against Marcellus. She also asked the court to extend that protection to their children.
The Allegations In Her Declaration
In her court declaration, Annemarie said there was a pattern of ongoing and increasing abuse. She accused Marcellus of several abuses: physical violence, sexual abuse, verbal and emotional harm, financial control, and intimidation. She said their children saw much of it.
The Arrest That Preceded The Filing
The divorce filing follows Marcellus’s arrest on Saturday, July 4. Police arrived after a report of a fight between the couple at a Marriott hotel in Florida.
Annemarie’s statement to the police said Marcellus threatened to kill her after he grabbed her. She said that earlier that morning, he poked her in the cheek with one finger. This happened in front of one of their daughters.
Annemarie told officers that Marcellus had a history of violence she hadn’t reported. She planned to divorce him when they got back to California.
Marcellus denied the allegations to police. Investigators found enough evidence for probable cause. So, he was arrested for alleged domestic violence battery.
The Court’s No-Contact Order
A court issued a no-contact order against Marcellus on Sunday, July 5. The order stops him from contacting Annemarie in any way. This includes social media and third parties. He must also stay at least 500 yards away from her, their home, and her workplace. Annemarie works as a nurse anesthetist in Beverly Hills.
The order stays in place whether Annemarie wants to talk to him or not. It lasts until the court decides to change it.
Marcellus must not have weapons or firearms. He also needs to live in a separate place. He is permitted to return to the home one time, with a police escort, to collect his belongings.
A Father’s Day Post, Just Weeks Before The Arrest
The timeline gives context to Marcellus’s Father’s Day post from last month. He thanked Annemarie for their kids.
“My greatest blessings call me Dad,” he wrote. “Morocca, Marcellus Jr., Ariya, and Alivia, thank you for giving my life its deepest purpose and greatest joy. And to my father, thank you for showing me what real love looks like: always present, always available, always reliable.”
He continued, “No tough love. Just strong love. The kind that shows up, stays consistent, and never lets go. Forever grateful for my family.”
Annemarie’s Brief Run On RHOBH
Annemarie joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in season 13. However, Bravo did not bring her back for the next season.
“I just got word today that I will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” she wrote at the time. “To say that I’m disappointed is an understatement.”
Annemarie often defended Marcellus while on the show. She defended him after he was criticized for saying transgender female athletes shouldn’t compete in women’s sports. She also spoke up when he rated her appearance an 8.5 out of 10.
