The Real Housewives of Orange County’s midseason teaser, released exclusively by PEOPLE on August 27, delivers a confrontation fans have been waiting for all season. Shannon Beador comes face to face with Alexis Bellino, who is now married to Shannon’s ex, John Janssen.
The setup alone is enough to raise the tension. At a party, Heather Dubrow announces that Alexis and John are in attendance, and the teaser shows the couple posing together for selfies. Shannon’s jaw drops the moment she spots them.

Shannon and John dated for three years before splitting in 2022. John and Alexis met the following year and went public with their relationship in December 2023. The two married in October 2025, more than a year after getting engaged during a trip to Santa Barbara in August 2024.
Alexis and John’s relationship started shortly after Shannon and John’s ended. This overlap can keep tension alive even after a breakup is over.
Alexis Is Back On Her Own Terms
This teaser marks Alexis’s return to RHOC in a guest capacity, following a rocky exit from the main cast. She revealed on the Going Rogue podcast in December 2024 that she was not asked back for season 19.
“I can’t say it came as a shock, it did not come as a shock,” Alexis, 49, said at the time. “It was a hard conversation. I guess I wasn’t really prepared because I didn’t think contracts were coming out. So it was a shock when the call came, but I was never shocked about that information.”
She also admitted the news came with an unexpected upside. “It was a little bit of a relief. I mean nobody wants the rejection, and no one wants to hear you’re not asked back. But it already happened to me. It happened to me in season 8. I’ve been there, done that.”
Bellino first joined RHOC in season 4, left after season 8, and returned for season 17 in a “friend of” role following a decade away. Her latest return puts her back in a cast that now includes her husband’s ex, guaranteeing this won’t be the last tense moment of the season.
