Jo-Ellen Tiberi is in her first big controversy on Bravo, and it began with her like button. On July 8, Reddit users shared screenshots showing the 38-year-old Real Housewives of Rhode Island star liked several posts from Donald Trump Jr. Critics say these posts are transphobic and hostile to the LGBTQ+ community.
Tiberi liked several posts, including: a meme saying veterans get “one day” of honor while Pride lasts “a whole month,” a comparison of Dylan Mulvaney to Jim Carrey as a woman in Dumb and Dumber, and a post calling those who use they/them pronouns “ugly” with “no personality or skills.”
She liked posts that mocked educational content on menstruation and gender. One post, from Trump Jr., said, “Very practical knowledge being taught.”
She’s Not The Only Cast Member Named
Tiberi’s castmate Alicia Carmody, 41, joined the Reddit thread too, but her involvement was much lighter. Carmody liked a post where Trump Jr. promoted his Triggered podcast. He did not engage with any LGBTQ-related content.
That distinction matters for how the fallout lands. Liking a podcast promo is not the same as liking a post that insults people for their pronouns. Fans mostly direct their anger at Tiberi alone.

Fans Feel Personally Let Down
Viewers reacted strongly, especially since Tiberi quickly became a fan favorite in the new franchise. Even Tamra Judge recently named her as her favorite RHORI cast member.
A Reddit user, a gay man who liked her on the show, said, “Jo-Ellen is so disappointing on this.” I hate that she can’t seem to see my community in the positive light that it should be seen. She should be asked about this by an interviewer, and made to account for it.”
Another summed up a familiar Bravo fan experience: “If there is one thing for certain about being a Bravo fan, these people will disappoint you.” Some found her behavior disappointing for her age and background. Others said they can’t support her anymore, even though they enjoyed her on screen.

Is Her Job Actually At Risk?
The timing complicates things. Even before the screenshots surfaced, rumors circulated that Tiberi might be on the chopping block for season 2. A source shot those down in an exclusive to Reality Blurb.
“Although rumors popped up on the internet that Jo-Ellen Tiberi may not be coming back and was potentially on the chopping block, that is categorically false,” the insider said. “Every single cast member was invited back, including Liz McGraw, who chose to leave on her own accord. Jo-Ellen will absolutely be back on the show for a second season. The show was a massive hit for Bravo, and they are not trying to mess with what works.”
After the posts surfaced, the same source addressed whether the controversy changes anything. “It’s doubtful they will end up letting her go because of this,” they shared. “But, of course, you never know with Bravo.”
A second insider went further, insisting there is “no way” Tiberi gets fired over the likes.
The Cameras Are Rolling Right Now
Season 2 of RHORI is filming now. This means the controversy is happening live, with cameras on the cast. Bravo’s history shows that the network usually puts stories like this on screen. This is especially true for a hit show that needs fresh storylines.
Tiberi might address the likes, apologize, or stand firm. Either way, the conversation is headed your way soon. Social media likes used to be the most private form of public engagement. For a Housewife on a breakout new franchise, they just became a plot point.
