Jenny Slatten’s ALS battle has taken another difficult turn. A new update posted to her GoFundMe page on September 23 says the 90 Day Fiancé star is getting weaker by the day. Jenny was diagnosed with ALS in December 2025.
What the New Update Says
Jenny’s friend, Serma Minincleri, shared the update. She wrote that Jenny is now on two ALS medications, edaravone and riluzole, according to PEOPLE. Both drugs are meant to slow the disease down. Both also leave her exhausted. Jenny has seen about five neurologists and speech therapists in recent months. She plans to start acupuncture soon. The update said some trials have shown acupuncture can help with mobility and fatigue in ALS patients.
Speaking has become especially hard for Jenny. “Jenny hardly speaks now as it hurts,” the update read. Her husband, Sumit Singh, has stepped fully into the role of her voice and her caregiver. The update credited him with doing a great job every day.
This latest news builds on what Sumit shared last month. In an August video, he explained that the disease was progressing and had started affecting Jenny’s speech more noticeably. He said she had been doing better earlier on, but the progression has picked up since. He said his hope remains that the U.S. can offer better treatment and a stronger support system for her.
The Visa Problem Still Isn’t Solved
Jenny and Sumit currently live in India, where Jenny relocated years ago to be with him. They want to return to the U.S. for treatment, but there’s a catch. Sumit still needs a visa to travel with her. Without one, the two could be separated indefinitely. That uncertainty is part of why Jenny has been hesitant to go to America without him.
A GoFundMe campaign set up to help cover Jenny’s treatment in India has raised more than $123,000 toward its $250,000 goal.
A Disease That Doesn’t Wait for Paperwork
ALS moves on its own timeline, and it clearly isn’t waiting on a visa application. Every month this drags on is a month where Jenny loses more ability to speak for herself, literally. This part of the story needs more focus: a woman with a terminal diagnosis must choose between better care and staying with her husband. The paperwork hasn’t matched her medical reality.
