Years after leaving RHOC, Kelly Dodd still discusses the pandemic and its aftermath.
In a recent chat on Jamie Kennedy’s podcast, the former Orange County Housewife shared her thoughts on leaving the show. She also discussed her bold views during COVID and a choice that still troubles her.
The biggest shock was when Kelly said she got a COVID vaccine. This was surprising since she had publicly criticized vaccine mandates during the pandemic.
“I f***ing caved.”

Kelly said to Jamie Kennedy that her actions during the pandemic influenced Bravo’s choice to part ways with her.
“In my fifth year, they fired me because of COVID.”
She remembered traveling a lot. She refused to wear masks and often criticized the restrictions in place.
“I was anti-mask, anti-vax, anti-everything.”
Kelly has made similar claims before. However, Bravo has never confirmed that her departure was linked to her COVID comments.

Kelly said she got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine while in the Bahamas, even though she had a different public stance.
Kelly said she made the decision while on a yacht owned by Fletcher Jones.
“He kind of made me do it.”
Kelly also revealed that her husband, Rick Leventhal, received the vaccine as well.
She said she initially viewed it as similar to getting a flu shot.
Years later, she says she still regrets the decision.

During the interview, Kelly discussed health concerns she personally associates with the vaccine.
Medical experts and public health agencies say COVID vaccines are closely monitored for safety. Kelly did not show any evidence connecting her concerns to her vaccination.
Still, she made it clear that her feelings about the decision have not changed.
“I can’t believe I took it.”

The conversation also turned to Kelly’s ongoing dispute with Dr. Dhivya Srinivasa.
Kelly defended her earlier comments about the doctor. She also pushed back against claims that her remarks were offensive.
“I’m not racist. It is what it is.”
Jamie Kennedy, the podcast host, told Kelly not to describe Dhivya by her ethnicity.
Kelly disagreed and continued defending her comments.
