Sister Wives: Meri Brown Reveals the Dating Lesson Her Marriage to Kody Taught Her

Meri Brown has learned something from her marriage to Kody Brown. In an exclusive Season 21 preview, the Sister Wives star says she jumped into that relationship too fast. Now she wants to take her time. The scene airs in the Sunday, October 11 episode.

What Meri Says in the Preview

In the clip, Meri has lunch with her close friend Ron. She asks how dating is going. Ron admits he sometimes feels pressure. When he goes out with women, some want to get serious very quickly. He wants to take his time and find the right person.

Meri agrees. She says she does not want to rush into something and then get her heart broken if it does not work. Then she looks back. “I jumped into my relationship with Kody really fast,” she says, according to TV Shows Room. She says moving slowly can be wise. She also says she values that she and Ron can talk openly about what they need and whether they are right for each other.

Kody and Meri married legally in 1990, after they met when she was 18. They divorced on paper in 2014 so Kody could legally marry Robyn Brown. They stayed spiritually married until 2023. Kody is now only with Robyn, who left the show with him this season.

Where Meri and Ron Stand

Fans met Ron in Season 20. He and Meri met at a speed dating event that Meri joined. In the Season 20 One-on-One, Meri said they technically “don’t date,” but she is building a friendship she enjoys. “I really love that I can be myself around him,” she said, according to AOL. The new preview fits that pace. Neither one of them seems to be in a hurry.

Season 21 follows Meri, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown as they move forward after their splits from Kody. Each of them is dealing with her own love life.

A Lesson, Not a Regret

Meri could have used this scene to talk about what went wrong. She does the opposite. She calls it a lesson and applies it to her next chapter. That fits how she has talked about her past. She frames it as something that shaped her, not a mistake she wants to erase. It is also a calm contrast to the dating storylines around her. Janelle has a long-distance boyfriend and Christine is working through her own marriage. Meri is the one who says there is no rush.
